1961 Jack C. Cohen House in Bethesda: $1.199 Million

Architect Jack C. Cohen, FAIA, left his mark on the suburbs of Washington. He started the firm Cohen and Haft and designed the Crystal City Marriott and the Israeli Embassy. The firm was later known as CHK and now is known as Torti Gallas. The firm has designed more than 300,000 residential units in the Washington area. A 1972 Washington Post article dubbed the firm the “Architects of the Suburbs.”  Now Cohen’s own mid-century modern house in the burbs is on the market. (He passed away in 2011 at the age of 87.) The 5 bedroom/4.5 bathroom 4,650 square foot home is nestled into the trees on a .81 acre corner lot in Bannockburn at Crail Drive and Broxburn Drive. See the pictures here.
