1965 Expanded ‘Glenmore’ in Carderock – $875K
In 1964, the “Glenmore” model in Carderock Springs by Keyes, Lethbridge and Condon won the McCall’s magazine “Congress on Better Living” award. The design, used on hills, looks like a ranch from the front but drops down in the back to a second level.
This 5 bedroom/4 bath expanded version was just listed for $875K. It has a nice deck off the back and an expansive side porch to take in the views of the wooded lot. I especially like the vintage and well-maintained bathrooms on the main level, which features nice hardwoods and cathedral ceiling in the open living room. See more images here.
Bethesda’s Carderock Springs, built by Edmund Bennett and designed by the architecture team of Keyes, Lethbridge and Condon, was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2008. The 275 mid-century modern homes were developed in the 1960s.
