1979 Ultramodern Contemporary in Forest Hills – $2.695 Million

Walls of glass bring nature into this 1979 Forest Hills contemporary. Photos by Trish Hamilton.

The mid-century modern period for architecture is typically viewed as spanning from 1945 to 1970. While this late 1970s contemporary in Forest Hills in Washington falls outside this strict definition, it is worth taking a look at– especially through the lens of photographer Trish Hamilton.  The 5 bedroom/5.5 bath home sits amid lush landscaping, has a open floor plan and nice ultramodern kitchens and baths.  Forest Hills, which is just off Connecticut Avenue and surrounded to the east by Rock Creek Park,  has a wide variety of mid-century modern and modern homes, including the only home in D.C. by Richard Neutra and Travis Price’s own stunning residence.
