Bueller, Bueller: Does Anyone Want to Buy Cameron Frye’s House for $2.3 Million?
This listing is not in the Washington area, but I could not resist. This Miesien-inspired house probably had a major role to play in the interest (do I dare say obsession?) of many of us in MCM architecture. The museum-like, cantilevered MCM of Cameron’s obsessive parents in the 1980s classic Ferris Bueller’s Day Off can be yours for a cool $2.3 million. The 4/4, 5,300 square foot glass and steel home is located
in Highland Park, Ill., and designed in 1953 by A. James Speyer and David Haid for noted textile designer Ben Rose, who died in 2004. I first saw the listing mentioned here.
