Endangered: 1957 Custom Goodman in McLean – $1.6 Million

A small modern home located on 1.69 acres in Ballantrae Farms, an exclusive neighborhood in McLean. Doesn’t look good. This custom Charles Goodman box-like home raised by pilotis evokes Le Corbusier’s Villa Savoye, built near Paris in 1930. In the listing, the agent suggests that the property presents a “rare opportunity to build your dream home” and shows only exterior images of the house and surrounding land. However, the listing does mention Goodman and makes clear that another option is to add to the home, which won an award in 1957 from the Washington Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. Hope this one does not disappear.
