Giving Thanks for the Daniel Donnelly Herman Miller Sale

George Nelson pad

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. I hope you will be spending the holiday with family and friends to give thanks for all that you have. This is also a good time of year to give thanks for good design–which helps enrich our life–by heading down to the annual Herman Miller sale at Modern Capital sponsor Daniel Donnelly. The sale runs from today through Dec. 12. Snag 15% of the work of Charles and Ray Eames, George Nelson or Isamu Noguchi.

Speaking of Mr. Nelson, check out the Nelson Platform Bench with metal legs, which is now available again after being shelved for 50 years. Nelson, according to Herman Miller lore, created the slat for his office in New York. He thought it would be uncomfortable so people would not over stay their welcome. At Daniel Donnelly, you can create your own custom pad with a visit to the store’s Textile Alcove, where you will find a complete line of Danish wools as well as many fabrics with graphics, patterns and stripes. Daniel’s half-length pad pictured above and below features  Hella Jongerius’s design of Repeat Dot Ring (color 001 Gold).
