Montclair Manor, a complex of 64 mid-century modern flat-roof townhouse condos in Wheaton, was designed by local architectural firm Bucher-Meyers & Associates and built in 1966. The cluster of two-level, three-bedroom townhomes are tucked just off Veirs Mills Road  around the corner from several Charles’s Goodman-designed mid-century modern neighborhood, Rock Creek Woods, Hammond Wood and Hammond Hill. Montgomery County architectural historian Clare Lise Kelly, in her book, Montgomery Modern: Modern Architecture in Montgomery County, Maryland, 1930-1979, says the complex was “described as contemporary-styled townhouse apartments when they opened in 1966 in Wheaton. … Several of the three-bedroom apartments were built with walk-out recreation rooms.”
