Open Houses for a ‘Mad Men’ Sunday
Here a are few open houses to hit before you get ready to watch the “Mad Men” finale tonight. This architect-designed house (pictured above) sits on nearly an acre in Silver Spring. The multi-level, open kitchen-dining-living room with wood-beamed ceiling and walls of glass reminded me of Ray Kappe’s own stunning home in California. The house was designed by local architect Richard E. Collins Jr. for his own family. He passed away in 2002. It is listed for $799K and open today from 1 to 4 pm.
Here’s a largely untouched 1966 home in Carderock Springs. It has the original kitchen, at least one of the bathrooms and some vintage globe lights. it does back to Beltway. Listed at $719K and open 1-4 pm.
And since the show now takes place in the 1970s, here is a 1978 Deck House on Lake Thoreau in Reston. Listed for $1.25 million and open 1-4 pm.
I am also holding my listing in Springbrook Forest open 1-4 pm. It is a completely renovated 1957 rambler on a private acre. Price is now $734K.
Hope you enjoy the houses and the show tonight.
