Tickets on Sale for Docomomo DC’s Brutalist Tour

You can now buy tickets for Docomomo DC‘s lecture and tour, which will be held October 7. The event, Rediscovering Brutalism: Understanding DC’s Concrete Architecture, will begin with a lecture by architectural historian Michael Kubo on the evolution of brutalist design and its development within Washington, D.C. The lecture will take place in the boardroom of the AIA National Headquarters. Participants will then depart on a walking and Metro tour of the K Street and Dupont Circle neighborhoods to view brutalist buildings including the headquarters of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, Farragut North and Dupont Circle Metro stations, and the Sunderland Building, among others. Tickets are $25 for students and members of Docomomo US/DC, the DC Preservation League, and APT DC. $35 for non-members. Docomomo US is a 27-year old non-profit organization dedicated to the documentation and conservation of buildings, sites and neighborhoods of the modern movement.
